A Taraji P. Henson-led “Empire†cookie spinoff is in the works.

1. Fans of Empire will be thrilled to know that a spinoff centered around Cookie Lyon, portrayed by Taraji P. Henson, is currently in development.
2. The new series will focus on Cookie's life before she met her husband, Lucious Lyon, and her journey to becoming the fierce, no-nonsense woman we know and love.
3. Empire co-creator Lee Daniels confirmed the news of the potential spinoff, stating that it will delve deeper into Cookie's backstory and feature a younger actress playing the character.
4. While the rest of the original cast may not make regular appearances, some characters may make guest appearances on the spinoff.
5. The spinoff would join other successful Empire spinoffs like Star and Empire: The Aftermath, giving fans even more of their favorite characters and storylines.
