1. Start with fresh eggs that are at room temperature for the perfect poached egg every single time.


2. Fill a pot with enough water to submerge the eggs and bring it to a gentle simmer.


3. Add a tablespoon of vinegar to the water, which will help the egg whites to stay together during cooking.


4. Crack each egg into a small bowl or ramekin before gently sliding it into the simmering water.


5. Use a slotted spoon to gently nudge the egg whites towards the yolk to create a round shape.


6. Let the eggs cook in the simmering water for about 3-4 minutes for a soft yolk or longer for a firmer yolk.


7. Remove the poached eggs from the water with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess water.
